May the 4th is almost upon us and you know what that means: it’s almost Star Wars Day! What better way to celebrate the most out-of-this-world holiday than by jumping into hyperspace and blasting off for the Outer Rim planet Batuu and the bustling village of Black Spire Outpost? We’re talking about visiting Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney Hollywood Studios, of course!

May the 4th Be With You at the Walt Disney World Resort
In case you’ve been living under a rock for the past several years, May the 4th is considered Star Wars Day. “May the force (fourth) be with you.” Get it? (Not to be confused with Life Day, the Wookiee holiday which celebrates the joy of family and is traditionally observed by the fuzziest of Kashyyyk residents on November 17.)
With an entire Star Wars Land, Disney World is the perfect place to celebrate Star Wars Day on May the 4th. From Star Wars rides at Hollywood Studios to immersive restaurants in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge to shops bursting with Star Wars merchandise, there’s no shortage of activities available to spend the holiday.
But, for all of you wondering whether Disney World does anything special for May 4th, the surprising answer is: Not really. You see, unlike Life Day, Star Wars Day is decidedly an Earth holiday. In other words, if you walked up to a citizen of Batuu and told them “May the 4th be with you,” they’d probably react like you simply had a lisp, not like you just wished them the merriest of Star Wars days. Really, every day is Star Wars Day at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. So, don’t expect to find any official special events taking place in Disney World’s Star Wars land over May 4th, although you may come across some unofficial, fan-led events.
That being said, Disney will never miss out on a chance to celebrate a holiday, especially when it comes to food.
Star Wars Day Snacks & Sips
Disney has announced a whole lineup of Star Wars-themed treats and drinks for those wanting to party in the name of the Star Wars universe. While most can be found at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, guests without park tickets can get in on the out-of-this-world fun too at both Disney Springs and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is a veritable mecca for Star Wars fans everywhere. This Star Wars land in Disney Hollywood Studios is filled with immersive theming and transporting details around every corner. Whether sipping on a cup of blue milk from the Milk Stand, building your own BB or R-Series droid at the Droid Depot, or exploring a galaxy far, far away on one of the Star Wars rides at Hollywood Studios, there are tons of ways to make the Star Wars universe come alive at Walt Disney World.
Galaxy’s Edge isn’t a recreation of any particular location in the Star Wars universe – it’s a whole new place entirely. Set on the Outer Rim planet of Batuu, Black Spire Outpost is the planet’s most populous settlement, and a magnet for smugglers, traders, and explorers alike.
Although you’ll find all manner of Star Wars-inspired attractions, dining, and shopping here, walking through the dusty streets of Black Spire Outpost is an experience in and of itself. Every location here has a backstory, even the restaurants and stores, and clever details are packed into every nook and cranny.
Occasional appearances by citizens of the Star Wars universe – like Stormtroopers marching around barking orders or Rey imploring guests to join the rebels outside Rise of the Resistance – truly make Black Spire Outpost feel like a living, breathing place. In short, it’s a Star Wars fan’s paradise.

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run | Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
Ever wanted to sit in the cockpit of the iconic Millennium Falcon? Well, now you can, on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. This hands-on adventure is a bit like Epcot’s Mission: Space on steroids, albeit without the vomit-inducing g-forces. Play the part of pilot, engineer, or gunner as you try to maneuver the Millennium Falcon across hyperspace to deliver your precious cargo. While Star Wars enthusiasts of all stripes will appreciate this ride, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run is right up video gamers’ alley, as the success of your mission depends on your ability to carry out your assigned role.

Star Tours – The Adventures Continue | Echo Lake
The first of the Star Wars rides at Hollywood Studios, Star Tours is a 3D flight through the galaxy on a motion simulator. What should be a leisurely guided tour through the galaxy devolves into chaos when hapless droid C-3PO accidentally gets stuck behind the wheel, only to get harangued into joining the Resistance.
Thanks to the randomized nature of the ride, Star Tours can be ridden again and again for a different experience every time. With a mix of scenes from across the Star Wars film franchise, this exciting, fun-filled ride will have old and new Star Wars fans alike on the edge of their seats, literally. If you’re lucky, you may even get to be the rebel spy.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance | Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
Wander through the Resistance Woods before joining the Resistance in an epic battle against the First Order in the bowels of a Star Destroyer. This thrilling, immersive experience is like a dark ride, motion simulator, and Tower of Terror-like drop ride all mixed together with a next-level queue unlike any other. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance thrusts you headlong into the action as you come face-to-face with an army of stormtroopers and the big bad of the newest generation of the Star Wars universe himself: Kylo Ren.
Currently, you must receive a boarding group from the virtual queue to be able to ride Rise of the Resistance. Learn how to secure your spot here.

Here, guests can peruse an impressive collection of costumes, scale models, concept artwork, and authentic movie props and watch a short documentary about the making of Star Wars before meeting classic Star Wars characters like Chewbacca and Darth Vader. Hoping to see some newer characters? Then you won’t want to miss the most adorable droid in the galaxy, the roly-poly BB-8.
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Dining
We’ve said it before, we’ll say it again: Where and what you choose to eat are as crucial to a vacation as the sights you choose to see. The Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge restaurants are brimming with thoughtful details, from immersive theming to galactic-inspired menus.
Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo
Nestled beneath a giant cargo delivery shuttle, Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo is a quick service restaurant housed in an old hangar bay. This family-friendly option serves up a cozy mix of classic comfort foods with Star Wars-inspired names like Batuuan Beef Pot Roast, Smoked Kaadu Pork Ribs, and Endorian Fried Chicken Tip Yip.
Milk Stand
The blue-hued milk served across the Star Wars galaxy has mystified fans for decades. Just what does it taste like? Although the movie version comes from the Bantha, Disney World’s Blue Milk and Green Milk are both plant-based. Made from a mix of coconut and rice milks and served frozen, the Green Milk boasts citrus and tropical notes, while the Blue Milk is simply described as “fruity.” For a truly force-filled beverage, you can even spike them with rum (the Blue Milk) and tequila (the Green Milk).
Oga’s Cantina
The cantina scene from Star Wars: A New Hope has left fans of all ages wishing they could make their own visit to the raucous Mos Eisley tavern. Well, now they can, at Oga’s Cantina at Disney World. Drinks are the highlight at this lounge, and there is a lot to choose from.
While beer, wine, and cider fans will be tempted to opt for something familiar, we suggest going for one of the many themed cocktails or mocktails instead. We like the Fuzzy Tauntaun with “Buzz Button Tingling” Foam or the Bespin Fizz topped with a Cloud Swirl.
As you’d probably expect from a bar with such iconic roots, the line here can get very long. If you absolutely must visit Oga’s Cantina during your visit, be sure to book an advance reservation.
Ronto Roasters
Ronto Roasters is all about meat. Here, savory sausage and pork are spit-roasted to perfection over the heat of a podracer engine. You can even watch the pitmaster droid as he works his magic grilling a hunk of ronto, a beast found on the planet of Tatooine. There’s even a plant-based Zuchii Wrap featuring grilled zucchini and chickpeas for the vegetarians and vegans out there. Or, start your day with a Ronto Morning Wrap or Rising Moons Overnight Oats instead.
Kat Saka’s Kettle
Kat Saka’s Kettle joins the ranks of many Disney World popcorn carts. While other popcorn carts sell an array of flavors or your basic butter variety, Kat Saka’s Kettle dishes up a sweet and spicy concoction known as Outpost Popcorn Mix. The owner of this fine establishment isn’t just a Batuuan farmer, but an avid collector of spices from across the galaxy, making this a truly out-of-this-world snack.
Disney World Star Wars Stores
From stores hidden in the winding, bazaar-like marketplace of Black Spire Outpost at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge to other Disney World Star Wars stores a little bit closer to home, Walt Disney World is filled with a universe of Star Wars-inspired merchandise.
Just like how you won’t catch the denizens of Black Spire Outpost telling each other “May the 4th be with you” (they’re more likely to celebrate Life Day), don’t expect to find any Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge-branded merchandise in the Star Wars land of the same name. You’ll need to over to Tatooine Traders or Star Wars Galactic Outpost at Disney Springs for that. Instead, come here for authentic memorabilia inspired by the Star Wars universe.

Black Spire Outfitters | Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
Looking for the perfect outfit to explore the planet of Batuu in? Then be sure to visit Black Spire Outfitters. Although they sell a variety of Star Wars shirts, the real highlight here is the Jedi robes. Pieces are sold separately, so you don’t need to commit to a full Jedi costume if you don’t want to. You can even get clothes inspired by characters like Rey, Luke, Obi-Wan, and more.
Creature Stall | Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
Ever wished you could have your own pet porg? The Creature Stall is the place to go for all Star Wars creatures big and small. Remember – these aren’t just toys, but pets. So, don’t be surprised if your plushie gives a squawk or coo when you play with them. With large, animatronic versions of the creatures housed throughout the store, Black Spire Outpost’s neighborhood pet shop is a fun place to visit regardless of whether you’re buying something fuzzy or scaly of your own to take home.
Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities | Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
Are you on the hunt for a Star Wars souvenir unlike anything else at Disney World? Then you might want to take a peek at Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities. Unlike most of the other proprietors of the shops around Black Spire Outpost who are too busy to make an appearance, Dok-Ondar himself is on-hand at his Den of Antiquities hawking his wares and haggling with guests. The gatekeeper to Batuu’s black market, he’s the Ithorian to go to if you’re in the market for a historic lightsaber, rather than a personalized one, or a kyber-crystal powered holocron cube. Along with all the details lovingly included in the store’s design, many of the items on display here aren’t for sale, making Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities an interesting stop whether you’re shopping or not.
Droid Depot | Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
Anyone who has ever watched a Star Wars film has probably wished for a droid of their very own. Now, Disney guests don’t just get to buy one, they can even build one themselves from scratch. At the Droid Depot, builders choose between the classic R-Series (like R2-D2) and the newer BB-Series (like BB-8) before picking out droid parts as they flow past on a conveyor belt.
At the end of the experience, you get to leave with a Bluetooth-enabled droid that about the size of a coffee maker that can react to both the world of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge as well as your remote control. Reservations are recommended to build, or if you’d rather not build your own Star Wars droid, premade droids and other droid-themed items are also available.
First Order Cargo | Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
Swear your allegiance to the dark side and First Order at First Order Cargo. Neighboring the TIE fighter, First Order Cargo sells all manner of First Order-related items and propaganda. Win over the hearts and minds of all passing Stormtroopers with First Order gear like shirts, hats, badges, and pins or a 709th Legion banner.
Resistance Supply | Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
Located on the outskirts of the Resistance Forest, the Resistance Supply stall is where members of the Resistance go when they want everyone to know that they’re on the side of good. Show everyone where your loyalties lie with shirts, pins, hats, and more, all emblazoned with the sign of the Resistance.
Savi’s Workshop | Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
Similar to the Droid Depot, Savi’s Workshop is another hands-on retail experience. Only this time, instead of a kid-friendly toy, you’re creating a collector’s-quality custom lightsaber (we’re talking heavy-duty metal, not cheap plastic). Unlike the Droid Depot, which is better suited towards kids, building a lightsaber at Savi’s Workshop has been known to leave even the manliest of men feeling some strong emotions.
Like getting a wand at Ollivander’s at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Savi’s Workshop is a highly choreographed experience, where Gatherers who help guard the Force guide Star Wars enthusiasts in building a personalized lightsaber. Again, get to the shop early or make a reservation if you don’t want to wait in line.
Toydarian Toymaker | Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
Searching for a unique toy for a Star Wars-loving kiddo? Be sure to visit the Toydarian Toymaker. However, these handcrafted toys aren’t like the normal Star Wars-themed action figures of Earth. Instead, Zabaka the Toydarian lovingly crafts felt dolls – like Yoda, Chewbacca, Rey, Finn, Kylo Renn, a Stormtrooper, and more – inspired by stories she hears from travelers passing through Black Spire Outpost.
Star Wars Galactic Outpost | Disney Springs
Star Wars Galactic Outpost is the place to go for all things Star Wars at Disney Springs. This retail location on Disney Springs West Side is stocked with all manner of Star Wars-themed merchandise like clothes, toys, collectibles, and more. A great place to go for Star Wars souvenirs without needing a Disney World park ticket.
Tatooine Traders | Echo Park
Although it is part of Hollywood Studios, Tatooine Traders isn’t part of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Located next to Star Tours, Tatooine Traders is the place to go for Star Wars and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge-branded merchandise like shirts, hats, plushies, and more. You can also make a more affordable lightsaber here (think: closer to a toy than cosplay accessory than what you can build at Savi’s Workshop), as well as an R-Series droid without the interactive Bluetooth functionality.
Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Resort
Designed like a cruise through the stars, every 2-night stay at Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser brings the Star Wars universe to life like never before. Here, guests can live their own Star Wars story, with exclusive, immersive experiences unlike anything else at Disney World like training with a lightsaber. And move over, Hoop-de-Doo Musical Revue: the new Star Wars Disney World hotel even has its own dinner show.
