Walt Disney World To Cancel Dining, Experiences and FastPass+

After announcing their reopening plan for their Florida-based theme parks, the Walt Disney World Resort is now gearing up to cancel many guest experiences as they prepare for their limited, phased reopening on July 11th.

Among the cancellations are dining reservations and guests who have purchased a Disney Dining Plan. All dining plans and reservations will be cancelled through the end of 2020 but booking will reopen in a few weeks with restrictions. These will include the number of reservations allowed at a restaurant at any given time and how the Disney Dining Plan will function moving forward.

Guests who have previously made dining reservations for 2020 will be notified of the cancellation via email. When reservations do reopen, guests will only be able to book 60 days in advance instead of the typical 180 days.

New ticket sales have also been put on hold until Disney can give existing ticket holders and annual passholders time to make theme park reservations under their new, yet to be released reservation system. This new system requires guests to have valid tickets and a reservation made for the theme park they plan to enter in order to attend the parks.

Without a reservation, guests will not be allowed to enter the parks. After existing ticket holders and annual passholders have been able to make their reservations, Disney will then allow new ticket sales and those guests to make reservations if available.

FastPass+ reservations will also be cancelled for the time being as Disney plans to use the additional queue space to hold guests while maintaining proper social distancing. Any guests who have made FastPass+ reservations for upcoming trips will receive a cancellation notification via email.

No timeline has been given for the limiting of these services; however, it’s anticipated that until Disney World reaches full capacity again they will continue to limit guest offerings and experiences.
