This week Disney Parks made several announcements about new attractions and entertainment coming to its theme parks around the world including Disneyland, Walt Disney World, Disneyland Paris, Shanghai Disneyland and Tokyo Disney.
The progress update included news on the new Guardians of the Galaxy roller coaster located at Epcot at Walt Disney World, which will be called Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.
The one of a kind coaster, which will feature 360 degree rotating cars, is one of the most anticipated additions to the park.
On Nov. 16th Disney released a video of Imagineers taking their first ride on the new coaster which has a completion date of spring/summer 2021.
You’ll see as the coaster moves, the carts also spin, giving riders the best view of what will be a new Guardians story. The coaster, which will be the worlds largest indoor coaster, has been deemed a family-friendly coaster that will immerse guests into one of their favorite Marvel films.
The ride’s story starts in the “Galaxarium,” which is a planetarium-like exhibition about the formation of Earth’s galaxy and the planet Xandar. You’ll then be invited to learn more about Xandar’s treasures, but things take an interesting turn when the Guardians of the Galaxy show up.
