Hooray! Early Entry Has Returned to Disneyland Resort

When the parks opened following the Covid-19 pandemic, many guests were disappointed to see the special early entry programs known as “Extra Magic Hours” or “Magic Morning” hour did not resume. Fortunately for those early risers who like to sneak in some extra time at the parks, early entry hours will return beginning on August 8, 2022. With weather in the triple digits and parks packed with summer visitors, there’s no better time to beat the heat and the crowds! So what do you need to know?

Early entry is only reserved for resort guests staying at the Disneyland Hotel, the Grand Californian Resort and Spa, and Paradise Pier Hotel. Guests need to already be checked in to qualify for early entry admission. Additionally, when you get to the park, remember to bring proof that you are staying at the hotel – proof of your hotel reservation should do.

Early entry allows guests to enter 30 minutes prior to the rest of the crowd. So if the park opens at 8:00 a.m. for example, early entry guests can gain admittance at 7:30 a.m. Keep in mind that many of the resort’s guests may already be in line at 7:30 a.m. In order to take full advantage of the perk, guests should aim to be in line approximately one hour prior to opening.

Keep in mind not every attraction will be open during early entry. For example, only fantasyland and tomorrowland rides will be open at Disneyland. Avenger’s Campus, Pixar Pier, and Cars Land are expected to be open at California Adventure. Some shopping and dining will also be open. For the shopping fans out there, there’s no better time to check out some limited-release items! Planning your trip? Take a look at the program here.
