Disneyland Resort announced a new Marvel multiverse attraction coming to Avengers Campus in Disney California Adventure Park. This will be the third and biggest ride added to the Marvel-themed land. According to Disney, the new family-friendly attraction will allow guests to team up with Avengers from across the Marvel multiverse to battle enemies led by King Thanos.
The ride will use an innovative new ride system that combines portal technology and flight capabilities. Ride vehicles are inspired by Tony Stark’s time suits, Xandarian jump points, and Wakandan technology. This allows the vehicles to transport heroes to different worlds and realities in seconds. Concept art shows the ride vehicles have two rows of seats and pass through an orange, glowing wormhole surrounded by geometric space debris. The story has the Avengers developing new technology to make Avengers Campus the hub for a multi-world mission.
Brent Strong, an executive creative director at Walt Disney Imagineering, said the ride will blend large-scale built environments with immersive media. This indicates it will be a high-tech dark ride attraction. There is no opening date yet for the new Avengers Campus ride. The land opened in 2021 with only two attractions – the Web Slingers ride and a re-themed Tower of Terror called Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!Â
The original plans for a third Avengers ride were scrapped. This new multiverse attraction is taking its place. Adding the high-capacity Marvel ride will help make Avengers Campus feel like a complete land. The ride will debut first at Disneyland’s Avengers Campus before potentially coming to other Disney parks. For now, it is exclusive to Disney California Adventure. The new attraction continues the multiverse storyline from Marvel films and allows guests to battle alongside their favorite heroes. Recruits will assemble and train alongside Avengers from across the multiverse when the innovative new ride opens.

- Avengers Headquarters (Opened June 2021) – Located in Avengers Campus, this is home to heroic character encounters with Avengers like Iron Man, Black Panther, Black Widow, and more who appear to defend the headquarters.
