Walt Disney Gets His Due in Carousel of Progress
Here’s an announcement that literally gave me goosebumps when I heard it. The Walt Disney Audio-Animatronic figure that just debuted at Disneyland is coming to Walt Disney World – but not where you’d expect. Instead of the Hall of Presidents, Walt is getting his own scene in Carousel of Progress!
This actually makes perfect sense when you think about it. Carousel of Progress was Walt’s baby from beginning to end, debuting at the 1964 New York World’s Fair. The new scene will show Walt giving a presentation about his Florida project, complete with concept art and sketches of his vision for the future.
What I love about this is that it’s not just copying the Disneyland version – it’s something completely new and specifically tied to Walt Disney World’s history. The attraction hasn’t had a major update since 1993, so this feels like the perfect way to honor both Walt’s legacy and bring this classic attraction into a new era!
Villains Land Gets Wickedly Creative with “Conjured Architecture”
Disney pulled back the curtain on some fascinating details about the upcoming Villains Land at Magic Kingdom, and the creative process is honestly incredible. Disney Imagineers actually traveled to Paris and Barcelona to study Art Nouveau architecture from the 1800s, and what they discovered is shaping this entire land.
They’ve coined the term “Conjured Architecture” to describe how they’re blending historical Art Nouveau elements with the magical, organic appearance of Disney villains. The Imagineers found that Art Nouveau’s natural motifs and swirling designs make nature appear “cursed” – like magic has frozen it in place. Perfect for villains, right?
Here’s what’s really exciting: Disney Legend Andreas Deja, who animated iconic villains like Gaston, Jafar, and Scar, is consulting on the project. He’s focusing on incorporating the villains’ “big personalities, bold visuals, and rich backgrounds” into the land’s overall ambiance!

TRON Gets a Red-Hot Makeover for Movie Tie-In
Starting September 15, 2025, TRON Lightcycle / Run is getting a limited-time overlay that’s going to blow your mind. Both the Magic Kingdom and Shanghai Disneyland versions will swap their blue and orange light trails for red and orange, tying into the upcoming “TRON: Ares” movie hitting theaters in October!
But here’s the kicker – Nine Inch Nails is creating a new soundscape for this overlay. If you’ve experienced TRON, you know how important the audio is to that whole experience. This is going to feel like a completely different ride, and I’m absolutely here for it!
World of Frozen Opens Spring 2026 at Disneyland Paris

What makes this ship special is that it’s the first Disney cruise ship to be permanently homeported in Fort Lauderdale, giving South Florida cruisers a brand-new option. Hollywood Studios Gets an Animation Renaissance in 2026
Animation Courtyard is getting a complete transformation into “The Walt Disney Studios” in 2026, and I couldn’t be more excited. The centerpiece will be “The Magic of Disney Animation,” housed in a building that resembles the iconic Roy E. Disney Animation Building in Burbank, complete with Mickey’s Sorcerer Hat on top!
Inspired by the “Once Upon A Studio” short film, this experience will let guests step into a world where Disney Animation characters have come to life and taken over the studio. You’ll see portraits come to life, learn to draw Disney characters from animators, and explore interactive moments around every corner!
