Complete Aquatica Height Requirements Guide

Hoping to cool off on your next vacation? Consider paying a visit to SeaWorld water park, Aquatica. With locations in both Orlando, Florida, and San Antonio, Texas, this award-winning water park is the perfect place to make a splash for kids and adults alike. That said, water slides and wave pools mean more than just a wet and wild time, especially when those slides are among the tallest and most thrilling in the world. They also mean minimum height requirements and even some weight restrictions, too.

To avoid any potential disappointment, we recommend that you check out all the height requirements for Aquatica water rides before you even get to the park. This allows you to steer clear of any attractions that your child is too small for, saving you time, stress and hassle. That’s where this guide, which covers both Aquatica Orlando and Aquatica San Antonio, comes in.

Aquatica Height Restrictions 101

Before we cover all those height requirements for Aquatica’s many water rides, let’s first dive into some commonly asked questions.

What are the height requirements for attractions at Aquatica?

As a partner park of SeaWorld, Aquatica is incredibly family-friendly and a great destination for those with kids, including young children. However, not every guest will be able to experience every attraction. At both Aquatica Orlando and Aquatica San Antonio, the vast majority of rides have either a minimum height requirement or, at the very least, some other kind of restriction. The only exceptions are the parks’ two wave pools, Big Surf Shores and Cutback Cove. That said, they aren’t the only attractions without minimum height requirements. Others have no minimum allowed height, providing that a child is accompanied by an adult or wearing a life vest.

As for rides with minimum height restrictions, most of them fall into one of two categories: at least 42 inches (107 cm) or at least 48 inches (122 cm). In Orlando, only two slides require riders to be 48 inches or taller. The rest have the more easily attainable requirement of 42 inches. At Aquatica in San Antonio, the reverse is true, with only a few rides on the shorter end of things.

Is Aquatica strict with height requirements?

Absolutely! Just like over at SeaWorld for their roller coasters and other attractions, Aquatica team members take height (and weight) requirements seriously. This is because they are put in place for a rider’s safety and security, determined by various factors like the design of the waterslide, the speed of the water and the depth of the water in the pool at the bottom. It’s better to be safe than sorry.

Which attractions don’t have a height restriction?

Both Aquatica Orlando and Aquatica San Antonio have several attractions where no minimum height is required. Having said that, some, like the lazy river and even more thrilling rides like tube and raft slides, also have additional requirements, such as that the child wear a life vest, maintain the proper riding position and/or be accompanied by a responsible supervising companion.

Do any slides at Aquatica have weight restrictions?

As with minimum height requirements, certain rides at Aquatica, specifically waterslides, have maximum weight allowances, too. Again, though potentially upsetting and embarrassing, this is for the rider’s safety. Some attractions will have scales nearby so that you can assess the situation once you get to the park. If the light turns green when you step on, then you’re good to go. For a two-person ride, you might even come across a scale that is big enough for both of you.
