Two Disneyland Tickets

Disneyland Increases Ticket Prices, Aims For Longer Stays

Today the Disneyland Resort raised their ticket prices with an emphasis on their 2 and 3 day tickets. Along with the price increase Disney also raised and changed their pricing for their Genie+ service at Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts.

The Disneyland 2 and 3 day tickets saw a price increase moving from $315 and $390 for an Adult Park Hopper Ticket to $345 and $420, and increase of $30 per ticket. The 5 Day Park Hopper Ticket went up $35 per ticket from $440 to $475.

Disney has made an emphasis on cost-per-day for guests, highlighting that the 4 and 5 day tickets are the best price for your money vs. the smaller 2 and 3 day tickets.

Here’s a break down of cost-per-day for base tickets:

1-Day Ticket – Starts at $104 per day

2-Day Ticket – $143 per day

3-Day Ticket – $120 per day

4-Day Ticket – $99 per day

5-Day Ticket – $83 per day

As you can see, the cost per day comes down significantly when you get into the 4 and 5 day ticket range. Ticket prices have typically been done this way with a “the more you play, the less you pay” motto.

Disney has always known with longer stays comes more profit. The guest will spend more on accommodations, food and merchandise if they stay longer. And it all goes to their bottom line.

Along with their ticket price increase Disney raised the cost of Genie+ at Disneyland from $20 per person per day to $25. The $25 price is only if the guest purchases the service in advance for every day of their ticket. For guests who decide to purchase the service day-of, they will be subject to dynamic pricing which means it could cost $25 or more.
