Disneyland Valentine’s Day Guide

Last updated:

While The Happiest Place on Earth may be known for its kid-friendly fun, this family vacation destination is just as magical for couples, especially around Valentine’s Day. If you’re feeling the love this February and are hoping to celebrate with your special someone, read on as we go over all the amorous offerings you can enjoy during a Disneyland Valentine’s Day in 2024, from romantic dishes and drinks to special events created with sweethearts in mind.

Celebrating Disneyland Valentine’s Day 2024

If you’re wondering, “does Disneyland do anything for Valentine’s Day?”, you’ll be happy to hear that, yes, Disney’s west-coast outpost goes all out for this celebration of love. Sweet seasonal menu items are developed for many Disneyland restaurants, with some available all February long. There’s even the special Disneyland After Hours: Sweethearts’ Nite event on select evenings during the month.

Tea-cups at nighttime

And while you certainly won’t see something on the same scale as Christmas or Halloween, you may even spot a subtle decoration or two,  perfect for a charming Instagram photo backdrop. We recommend the fresh addition to the Mickey and Minnie topiaries by Fantasyland Tower at the Disneyland Hotel: a pink floral heart. To top it all off, since February is usually one of the slower months to visit, Valentine’s Day at Disneyland tends to be blissfully less busy than other holidays.

Disneyland Valentine’s Day: Dreamy Dishes, Desserts & Drinks

When it comes to seasonal specialties at Disneyland in February, there really is something there that wasn’t there before. Unfortunately, unless you’re going to Disney Sweethearts’ Night, there aren’t any full Valentine’s Day menus at signature restaurants – such as Blue Bayou at Disneyland Park or Napa Rose at the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa – like there have been in past years.

However, you can certainly create your own romantic meal or even an entire Disney Valentine’s Day food tour out of the many new, limited-time eats on offer around the resort. As it’s the season of love, you’ll find an array of romance-inspired bites and beverages, from sweet treats bursting with fruit and chocolate to spicy delights that are sure to leave your tongue wagging.

Statue of Walt Disney with cherry blossoms

Best of all, many of these luscious dishes can be found across Disney property – such as at Downtown Disney District, a couple of the Disneyland hotels and, of course, Disneyland Park and California Adventure Park –all month long.

While you’re sampling and romancing, swing by candy stores throughout the Disneyland Resort (including Pooh Corner and the Candy Palace and Candy Kitchen at Disneyland Park, Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff and Trolley Treats at California Adventure Park and Marceline’s Confectionery at Downtown Disney) to try these tempting treats, available now through February 14:

Romantic Things to Do at Disneyland for Valentine’s Day

While many people go to Disney with their family or friends, it’s also great for a Disneyland date night, especially around Valentine’s Day. What’s more, you don’t even need to pay for an expensive park ticket to do it (unless you want to, of course), thanks to some special V-Day offerings in the hotels and the always-awesome Downtown Disney District.

Party Into the Evening at Disneyland After Dark: Sweethearts’ Nite

Disney loves love. And why not? The company wouldn’t be what it is today without an iconic mouse couple and a few fairytale romances – and you get to meet them all at this late-night event.

Unfortunately, tickets are already sold out for Disney Sweethearts’ Night 2023. But if you’re lucky enough to have already secured a pair for you and your boo, along with character sightings of Disney’s most dynamic duos, you’ll also get to enjoy special perks like:

  • Exclusive dishes and dining experiences, including one themed after that memorable spaghetti scene from Lady and the Tramp
  • Live music and DJ-led dance parties
  • A love-inspired fireworks spectacular
  • Less crowds and shorter lines for attractions

Cuddle up During a Playful Day in the Theme Parks

Even if you weren’t able to snag some of those sweet, sweet tickets, you can still have a magical time in the parks with your loved one. It just might take a little bit more creativity, planning and patience as you fight the midday crowds.

Lightning McQueen and Sally Carrera Riding In Front of Red and Rocks at Sunset

Disney dark rides make for prime snuggle time with that special someone, and some of them can be downright dreamy. Really, what’s more romantic than flying in a pirate ship built for two over a twinkling city at night on Peter Pan’s Flight or sneaking a kiss during the lagoon scene on The Little Mermaid – Ariel’s Undersea Adventure?

Hoping for something more exciting? Let the momentum on rides like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad fling you closer to your boo (yay physics!) or challenge each other to hold hands for the entire thrilling drop sequence on Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!

Avoid the Pricey Ticket, Not the Romance, with a Downtown Disney Valentine’s Day

No room in your budget for a spendy theme park ticket? No worries! Just head to the equally enchanting (for foodies and shopaholics, anyway) Downtown Disney District instead.

Along with the many places to eat and drink at Downtown Disney, couples can sway along to a mix of live jazz, R&B, Motown, funk and reggae groups  all February long at the Downtown Disney District Main Stage – without ever needing to pay a dime. Or, make your way to Splitsville Luxury Lanes for a little nostalgic fun, friendly competition and shameless flirting.

You can even enjoy a fairytale ending. Just make your way over near the theme parks for a completely free showing of the Disneyland fireworks

Find the Perfect Gift for Your Special Someone

Is “Receiving Gifts” one of your or your partner’s love languages? Then you’re in luck because there is a ton of Disney Valentine’s Day 2023 merch available around Disneyland this February to commemorate the day and your love.

Whether you’re exploring the theme parks or shopping at Downtown Disney, keep an eye out for a colorful assortment of love-inspired items, such as apparel (including shirts for couples!), plushies, bags, wallets, Pandora charms, mouse ears, tumblers, paper roses, Star Wars-themed items and more.

Hoping to make an even bigger impression? For those staying at one of the Disneyland hotels and looking to splurge, consider arranging a Valentine’s basket to be sent to your room, complete with Mickey and Minnie ears, macarons and a frame for one of the day’s photos.

One thing is certain: Whatever you buy, you and your other half are sure to come away with the perfect keepsake from your day of romance and some sweet memories. Oh, and probably a much lighter wallet.

Indulge in a Relaxing Spa at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa

For those with a love language of “Quality Time” or “Acts of Service,” keep Tenaya Stone Spa at the Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel in mind. Schedule a couples massage to indulge in some well-deserved relaxation alongside your boo or arrange your special someone a soothing Rosé and Roses Foot Treatment (and, if you’re traveling with kids, a hard-earned break).

Available now through February 15, this limited-time treatment features a luxurious foot bath strewn with rose petals, softening exfoliation and a decadent massage, followed by a glass of rosé the GCH Craftsman Bar.
