We say 3 because there really are only 3 major airports surrounding Disneyland. It’s always good to check all 3 because pricing is always different not to mention different airlines fly into different airports.
1. Orange County – SNA
This is the closest airport to Disneyland. It’s typically a 10 minute drive without traffic. One thing we like about this airport is it’s not huge but it’s not small. We’ll call it medium. Most major airlines fly into it including Delta, Southwest, United, Frontier, American, WestJet, and Alaskan.
One other benefit of this airport is that the Disneyland Express comes here for pick-ups and drop-offs. If you don’t know anything about the Disneyland Express, read more here. Taxis are typically $40 to the Disneyland Resort area. Uber’s are $25-$30 depending on the time of day and size. We do have discount codes available for Lyft and Uber.
2. Los Angeles Airport – LAX
This is the biggest airport serving the Orange County area. Pretty much every airline flies into this airport. Typically fares are cheaper coming and going but they come with a trade off: its about a 40 minute drive from here to Disneyland. Keep that in mind as you arrange for a car or rental.
One other benefit of this airport is that the Disneyland Express comes here for pick-ups and drop-offs. If you don’t know anything about the Disneyland Express, read more here. Taxis are about $95-$110 to Disneyland and Uber is about $45-$55.
3. Long Beach – LGB
Ahhh Long Beach. Our favorite airport. Mainly because it’s the cheapest for One Smart Mouse to fly into. It’s the second closes airport to Disneyland with a 20 minute ride to the resort. This airport is a major hub for JetBlue (who we also love) but you can also fly Delta and Southwest from certain cities. Unless you have a city that flies direct into Long Beach, these fares have the potential of being pricey.
There is no Disneyland Express bus serving this airport because of its size but taxi’s, Uber’s, and rental cars are all available. Taxis charge a flat rate of $45 for up to 7 people to Disneyland and surrounding hotels. Uber’s are typically $30-$40 depending on the time of day and which route the driver takes. Freeways are more expensive. You can save on your rides with our discount codes though.
