Disney World Tests Out Single Rider Option at EPCOT’s Soarin’ Attraction

Up until August 8, 2022, the single rider option at Disney World was only offered at four attractions: Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster, Smugglers Run, Test Track and Expedition Everest. However, yesterday another popular Disney World attraction, EPCOT’s Soarin’, was testing out the Single Rider option. Guests were immediately excited and took to Tik Tok to share the good news. Those commenting were quick to note that the Single Rider option appears to only be available during selected hours. Some noted these hours were during the park’s busiest; approximately between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Given how popular the attraction is, the Single Rider option would both maximize capacity on the attraction and reduce wait times all around for everyone. Over the years, guests have noted how many guests flock to the attraction, especially because it is located inside EPCOT’s Land Pavilion, providing shelter from Florida’s heat and rain.

While wait times for rides vary depending on their popularity, time of the day etc. Single Rider lanes usually reduce the wait time by approximately seventy percent. Single Rider Lines, however, don’t come without their downfalls! If you are planning a trip to Disney World and thinking about taking advantage of the Single Rider option, keep in mind your group will inevitably be broken up and that each individual member must be able to ride on their own. Parents, keep this in mind.

A second downfall is missing out on the  experience of seeing and participating in the full ride queue, although many guests prefer the experience of air conditioning over the queue anyway! Let us know what you think, is the Single Rider option permanent for Soarin’? What attractions do you think desperately need a Single Rider Lane?
