23 Things Everyone Needs To Do At Disneyland In 2023

The year 2023 is Disney’s 100 year Celebration! Can you imagine life without Disney? There are so many people that wait their whole lives to go to Disneyland, and others whose lives revolve around Disney everything. Queue the homemade shirts that people wear at Disneyland with all the clever sayings like “I work to support my Disney habit”

Disney has become a way of life for some people, and for good reason! Disney knows how to treat people and always goes above and beyond to make sure their guests are enjoying their time in Disneyland!

Here are our Must-Do’s this year at Disneyland:

  1. See the new Platinum-updated Disneyland Resort that’s celebrating the Walt Disney Companies 100th anniversary. Décor throughout the resort, new sparkling looks for Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and their pals. Sleeping Beauty’s Castle will be receiving lots of platinum upgrades with banners and signs. After all you only turn 100 once so let’s make it count!
  2. The new “World of Color – ONE” water show in California Adventure Park. They created a new song for this show called “Start A Wave”. It tells the story of how the last 100 years of Disney all started from one little movement.
  3. Disney’s new nighttime show “Wondrous Journeys” brings Sleeping Beauty’s Castle, Main Street U.S.A., and Rivers of America to life with all your favorite characters. Featuring an all new song “ It’s Wondrous” and a firework show on select nights. 
  4. All New Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway attraction opened January 27. The attraction will be featured in the brand new El CapiTOON Theater located in Toontown in Disneyland Park! With lots of new sights and experiences to be had with this wacky and fun attraction. Attraction entrance signage
  5. Disneyland After Dark: Sweethearts’ Nite Enjoy a night out with your Sweetheart at one of the most magical places on earth. They have 7 nights to choose from Jan 31st, Feb 2,5,7,9,14, and 16, this event requires separate tickets. With a night dedicated just to LOVE Disney style, they will be having a lot of first from rare characters, special dining, special entertainment and shorter wait times for rides.   
  6. Disneyland After Dark: Princess Nite – Calling all Princesses and Heroines, this is the first time Disneyland is doing a Princess Nite celebration. Two nights to choose from March 7th and 9th you can expect these separate event tickets to sell out quickly. Remember to dress as your favorite Disney princess or heroines and have a special night dedicated to female empowerment. 
  7. Lunar New Year – Ring in the year of the Rabbit at California Adventure Park Jan 20th-Feb 15th. Wish your friends and family health, wealth, and good fortune as you experience Chinese, Vietnamese and Korean cultures. All your favorite characters will be dressed in their New Year attire, you can check them out in Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession. 
  8. Food and Wine Festival – This foodie lover event has all the dishes that guests come back year after year to experience. March 3rd-April 25th the Food and Wine Festival takes over California Adventure Park. Enjoy foods inspired by California’s own agriculture with garlic, avocados, wines, cheese and so much more!!
  9. Eggstravaganza – Hunt for Eggs all around Disneyland Resort that have been decorated like your favorite characters: Cheshire Cat, Genie, Dopey, and 101 Dalmatians to name a few. This Easter tradition will be a fun addition to your family’s vacation.
  10. Halloween Time at Disneyland – The decorations are spooky and the costumes are even spookier. You can buy special event tickets for Disney’s Trick-or-Treating nights or just go during Halloween Time to enjoy the smells and sights that Disneyland musters up! This is one of Disneyland’s busiest times of the year so plan ahead.
  11. Snow White’s Enchanted Wish – This reimagined ride has been updated inside and out! 
  12. Adventureland Treehouse This brand new treehouse patterned after Swiss Family Robinson will open Feb 11th with a fresh new look. I can not wait to see what Disney does with this!
  13. Mickey’s Toontown – Opening March 8th will be a whole new Toontown with new rides and places for families to play. “CenTOONial Park”, Chip and Dale’s Gadget Coaster, Goofy’s How To Play Yard, and Donald’s Duck Pond are some of the new attractions and play areas you can expect. 
  14. Tiana’s Palace – This exciting new restaurant will be opening in later 2023 in New Orleans Square. They will be serving up New Orleans style dishes with, of course, Beignets!! This is going to be a beautiful palace just like Tiana and her father dreamed of. Statue of Mickey at the park
  15. Black History Month at Disneyland Resort – Celebrate Black culture through food at Disneyland Resort all month long! Here are just a couple of items being offered in February: Cafe Orleans (Available Feb. 1-28) Shrimp & Grits: Andouille-fava relish, cheesy grits, and shrimp sauce (New). Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe – (Available Feb. 1-28) Peach Cobbler Donut: Vanilla-dipped donut filled with peach compote, topped with a cinnamon sugar puff (New).
  16. Disney 100th Special Food offerings – All year long at Disneyland Park and California Adventure Park Disney is serving up food options that have been 100 years in the making from fancy to nostalgic. Here is just a taste of what there will be. Blue Bayou Restaurant-Celebration Cake: Pecan brownie, chocolate truffle mousse, red berries, and milk chocolate mousse glazed with chocolate ganache and topped with a star (Available Jan. 27)  Galactic Grill-Old-Fashioned Cream Soda: Sprite, cherry, and blue cotton candy gourmet syrup served frozen and topped with whipped cream and purple pixie dust.
  17. Visit Earl of Sandwiches – back in the Downtown Disney District, why they left, no one knows, but now they are back and we are so excited to have a healthy, laid back place to eat in the downtown district. 
  18. Magic Happens Parade – This parade had a short debut in 2020, but like most things during 2020, had to be put on hold. This year it is back and Disney is excited for guests to see it! It’s a day-time parade which is perfect for when you want to sit and watch something. 
  19. Earlier Park Hopper time – Starting Feb 4th you can park hop starting in the morning at 11 am. No need to wait till the afternoon anymore.
  20. Free Disney PhotoPass – Who doesn’t like the sound of FREE especially when it comes to Disney. As a Thank You to all their visiting guests, Disney is offering free PhotoPass. Get those pics you love to look at after riding Splash Mountain (soon to be Tiana’s Bayou Adventure) or with your favorite characters for free!!
  21. $104 Park ticket – WHAT?! Disneyland is offering two months worth of 1 day park tickets for $104. That’s lower than what they have been in a long time. This makes going to Disneyland just for 1 day more doable. 
  22. The Disney Gallery on Main Street U.S.A. – see original drawings and animation from the last 100 years of Disney. Beautiful artwork and some of Walt Disney’s first films will be on display in the time classic gallery.
  23. Holiday Time at Disneyland – One of the Happiest times of the year at Disneyland! And for good reason, everyone loves to come and enjoy the sights, smells, sounds, and fun that the Holiday Season has to offer. Disney celebrates Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza, and Diwali.
