Best Place to Buy Disneyland Tickets

Dubbed the Happiest Place on Earth with more than 700 million guests to date, there’s no better place to give yourself and loved ones that wow treatment other than Disneyland. And hey, summer is upon us, so dust your bags and get set for another happy time, if this is not your first time visiting. We can tell you this: This is the best place to buy Disneyland tickets.

Hear what Walt Disney said at the opening of Disneyland on July 17, 1955:

best place to buy disneyland tickets

“To all who come to this happy place: Welcome. Disneyland is your land. Here age relives fond memories of the past, and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future. Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams, and the hard facts that have created America, with the hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to all the world.”

Trust us when we tell you, Disneyland has lived up to this mantra, 61 years down the line and it only gets better like fine wine.

However, the cost associated with these visits are not pocket-friendly. As such, you need to get the best deals and tips out there. This is what we have covered in this post. In this post, we will share with you the best place to buy Disneyland tickets and the different packages that will not only save you a few bucks but also give you a lingering happy experience.

Besides your lodging fees, park tickets are the most expensive expenditure, so, saving money is crucial.

Before we continue, we’d love to share some ticket ‘safety’ tips. They are:

1.           You could be scammed while trying to get Disney tickets from unauthorized online sources. Ensure you buy tickets from authorized discount Disney ticket retailers.

2.          You cannot transfer Disney tickets to another guest – they are linked to your fingerprint upon activation.

3.          Disney ticket prices do not include the Florida 6.5% tax.

4.         Carefully look through ticket prices prior to booking your tickets. You could be comparing Park Hopper tickets to regular tickets unknowingly.

This guide is developed for Disneyland Resort, and it encompasses Disneyland (park) and Disney California Adventure and a bit of Walt Disney World in Florida.

Where is the best place to buy Disneyland Tickets?

As we noted earlier, purchasing Disneyland tickets from unauthorized ticket brokers will only amount to a waste of time and your hard-earned money as you would have to buy another ticket at the park gates.

Park Savers is one of the few websites selling discount Disneyland tickets worldwide. Their savings scheme is not limited to tickets alone. You also get to save some money on accommodation (more on that later).

Park Savers tickets are cheaper (as high as $21 discount on regular and park hopper tickets) than you would ordinarily purchase them from Disney directly or anywhere else. Their tickets are also FastPass enabled, so you can make Fastpass reservations with these tickets before you arrive at the park. We’ll shed more light on this shortly.

You should also take advantage of the special offer that is currently running on Park Savers. With this Special Offer, you can buy a 4-Day Walt Disney World® Ticket and/or Disneyland® Resort Park Hopper® and get your 5th Day FREE!

The Walt Disney World® Ticket includes Park Hopper® and Hopper® Plus tickets.

If you think that’s all to Park Savers’ awesomeness, we’ll bust your bubble with two more, for now.

Park Savers is gearing up for 2019’s summer opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge! Join us for the biggest expansion in Disneyland history as Star Wars makes its official entrance into the theme parks.

You should also take advantage of ParkSavers package layaway program that offers you 6 months no interest and no payments. Yeah, no payments and no interest for 6 months. Now, that’s awesomeness at its best!

Beyond cost-cutting, Park Savers’ customer service is first-rate. Oh, we almost forgot to mention the seamless booking process. All you get to do is to pick your preferred dates, pick your hotel, pick your tickets, and voila, you’re through!

What tickets to buy?

Now that you know that the best place to buy Disneyland tickets is Park Savers, the next thing you should know is the type of ticket that is worth your time and money.

To start with, we’d say it depends on how long you plan to stay. But no matter how short you plan to stay, a 1-park per day trip is not advisable. Go for the Park Hopper® option.

A Park Hopper® Ticket will allow you hop between both parks on the same day.

A 1 Park per Day Ticket allows you to visit 1 of the 2 parks each day of your visit. You cannot go between parks on the same day.

While the Park Hopper® is a bit more expensive than the 1 park per day option, it definitely is a good buy.

We’d recommend buying a 3-day Park Hopper Ticket. This will ensure you have an all-encompassing experience of everything the Disneyland Resort has to offer. Book your preferred package HERE and of course, save some money.

However, if you will not visit more than one park per day, save some extra money by avoiding the park hopper option

Park Hoppers and Fastpass

We highlighted the major difference between a 1 park per day ticket and a park hopper ticket in the preceding paragraph.

The park hopper option is no doubt a better deal because Disneyland and Disney California Adventure are only a few meters apart. It is very easy to hop from one to the other. For example, if you choose to spend the day at Disney California Adventure, having the hopper allows you to go to Disneyland late at night for the fireworks, or hop to Disneyland to enjoy the rest of the day.

With your park hopper option, you can also move back and forth between the parks collecting FastPasses (you can simultaneously hold a FastPass in Disneyland and Disney California Adventure), this makes your visit more efficient, deriving maximum utility in the process. The park hopper option is also mostly helpful during the busiest times of the year; think summer, spring break, and Christmas.

But that’s not the end to the Park Hopper innovation.

Because Disney is fully aware of crowded sessions and long queues, Fastpass was introduced to help you maneuver this huddle.

Fastpass is a user-friendly system and is designed help you save hours each day. This means you get to enjoy some simple things like sitting on a bench, people watching or enjoying other shows and attractions.

Note here that Fastpass is absolutely free. All valid tickets purchased and used for park entry includes Fastpass. Although MaxPass at the Disneyland Resort will charge a fee for use. For the curious. MaxPass is a new Disneyland innovation scheduled to be launched for public use in before the end of 2017 with an introductory fee of around $10 per day. Put in a simple language, MaxPass is somewhat a digital form of Fastpass. The MaxPass feature is entirely digital, so you’ll need to have a copy of the Disneyland App on your smart device(s). More details about MaxPass can be read on our Fastpass guide for Disneyland.

The best place to buy Disneyland ticketsPark Savers– will definitely make switching to MaxPass smooth for you. That’s if you’re interested in MaxPass (yeah, MaxPass is not a compulsory addendum).

You can read more about how to get the best of your Disneyland trip in Park Savers’ comprehensive Guide to Fastpass at Disneyland.

Rounding this off, Park Savers also offers free Uber and LYFT rides. In addition to this, you also get to enjoy a $40 discount on your next Airbnb lodge. All you need to do is to obtain the associated coupon codes and you’re off to a good treat.

We do not need to convince you further, these amazing and unparalleled cost-saving and customer service/experience practices are what make Park Savers the best place to buy Disneyland tickets in this age.

  • Always buy your Disneyland tickets from authorized ticket retailers.
  • The best place to get Disneyland tickets is online – Park Savers is your best bet. This helps you avoid the stress of buying at the park gates. This can be very frustrating sometimes. Ensure you purchase your tickets before your trip too.
  •  With respect to accommodation, it is advisable that you stay off Disney properties. You can book hotels around Disneyland. Park Savers recommend three of such hotels plus some giveaways, as usual. Find out how you can save more on accommodation HERE.
  •  A 1 park per day ticket is not a good deal. We advise you not to go that route. The return on investment is not encouraging.
