If you’ve been to a mall, turned on the car radio, or haven’t been living under a rock lately, you know that the 90’s are back! Platform sandals, middle-parts, and tie dye are everywhere. It’s no surprise, therefore, that Disney World heeded to fan’s requests to give the The Goofy Movie some more love and attention in the parks.
The Goofy Movie hit theaters in 1995 and is remembered by fans for its 90’s slang, fashion, and of course, music. For those of you planning to attend Magic Kingdom’s Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party this year, the beloved character, Max, will be making an appearance as the one and only Powerline!
Here’s what we know so far: Mickey’s Boo To You Halloween Parade will include a 90’s dance crew that is likely to be da bomb. Max will be leading the crew, cosplaying as his hero, Powerline. We can only hope that Powerline will be performing his top hit from the movie, “Stand Out” while sporting his famous yellow jumpsuit and zig-zag hair.
This is the first time that Max will be making an appearance at the party and word has it that he will be joined by some of our favorite characters from the 90’s. Unfortunately, there’s no news yet if Bigfoot will be joining the lineup. The top comment on the video from a tiktok user reads “give the people what they want!” with over 1,000 likes. Other comments include, “I’ve been waiting for this my whole life,” and “the world is healing!”
At this time, Disney has not announced that Max will be performing at Disneyland’s Oogie Boogie Bash, but if you are looking to catch him at the parks, he can often be seen fishing with Goofy at California Adventure’s Pacific Wharf.
