Don’t Miss These Must-Do Shows and Attractions!

Are you counting down the days to your Disneyland Vacation in Anaheim California? Perhaps you are just thinking about booking the trip now. We are excited for you and wanted to share our top 10 things to do at Disneyland Park to give you some good ideas and get that excitement flowing. Disneyland Park is full of amazing attractions and shows that are sure to blow you away! So don’t limit yourself to these 10 things but make sure you get them done!

Visit Galaxy’s Edge

Millennium Falcon Smugglers Run

It’s finally here and now you can travel with your family to a whole new part of the galaxy. We really mean that too because the planet you’ll visit is brand new to the Star Wars story. But don’t worry, you can still meet Rey or you could even encounter the wicked Kylo Ren. Disney has designed Galaxy’s Edge to be completely immersive and it certainly feels like you are in a whole other world. You’ll get the chance to create your own lightsaber and go on a smuggler’s run in the Millenium Falcon. In early 2020, a new attraction, Rise of the Resistance, will also be open that will allow you to fight with the resistance against the First Order.

Discover The Pirates Of The Caribbean

Pirates of the Caribbean

This is still one of the greatest rides that Disney has to offer. It’s completely immersive and though it has been changed several times in recent years, it still has the original charm. One of the most impressive parts of the ride allows you to journey through a heated battle with what looks like a full-sized pirate ship. Despite the age of this ride, it can still bring big queues, but you won’t be disappointed, particularly when you try and spot Jack Sparrow. We, of course, mean, Captain Jack Sparrow.

Journey To Space Mountain

Ghost Galaxy

Space Mountain is a classic and an absolute must-visit Disneyland attraction. Journey into space on this roller coaster in the dark as you race around twists and turns with the stars around you. A fun fact about this coaster is that during the Halloween season it becomes Ghost Galaxy! It’s truly a roller coaster in the dark that will have you screaming for more!

Spectacular Fireworks

There’s no better way to end your night than with a spectacular fireworks show and Disneyland certainly doesn’t disappoint. A bonus tip would be to book a desert package where you can enjoy the finest selection of sweets before and during the display that lights up the castle. During different seasons you can find some special firework shows including Halloween and the Holiday Season. If you don’t do a dining package, arrive early for good seating. Be sure to check your times guide that morning to make sure they are doing fireworks that night.

Dine With Your Favorite Disney Characters

At Disneyland, you can meet a wide range of Disney characters that wander the park and hang out at certain locations. But did you know that you can also have dinner with them too? You can have breakfast with Minnie and her friends. In 2019, a new addition was also announced where you’ll be able to dine with the Disney Princesses. The food is amazing of course, but it’s the interactions that make this a must book. These events are incredibly popular so do make sure that you add them to your vacation early to avoid disappointment.

Get Soaked On Splash Mountain

Splash Mountain

Splash Mountain is one of the tallest log flume water rides in the world and there is definitely the opportunity to get wet here. It’s a great way to cool off if the Cali sun is getting to be a little too much that’s for sure. However, it’s the theming that makes this ride a stand out feature. As you journey into the mountain, you’ll discover Br’er Rabbit and his friends as they try and work their way out of trouble. The ride ends with a huge 15-meter drop and what is sure to be a great photo of you screaming!

Fantasmic

An interesting fact about Mickey’s epic fight against the villains of all the Disney films is that the California version is more sophisticated and technologically advanced than the replica attraction in Florida. Both are impressive but Fantasmic at Disneyland is truly out of this world. The pyrotechnics are dazzling and you’ll stare in awe as Mickey battles his way to save the day. You’ll definitely want to get some great seats for this one so be sure to arrive early for the best view in the house. It’s a great way to finish off an incredible day at the park.

Fly With Peter Pan

Peter Pan Ride Disneyland

Despite being one of the older rides in the park, it’s also one of the most popular. Guests say that this ride really does make you feel like you can fly as you look down upon miniature versions of London and Neverland sprawled out below. It’s had a few updates but the classic feel of the ride still remains with crew members making it all the more magical by using pixie dust to make the ship fly. A gentle ride, the wonder does make what are often very long queue times worth the trip. It will certainly provide you with a healthy dose of nostalgia for the cartoon movie.

Visit The Haunted Mansion

If the weather is hot, step inside and discover a room that stretches before your very eyes. We’re not going to spoil the magic of this trick here, but we’d be crazy not to recommend a ride with the ghouls. All 999 ghosts are very friendly and despite having been open for quite some time the tech that brings them to life is incredibly impressive. This isn’t frightening and is certainly suitable for the little ones. It does offer some great thrills and you’ll have the songs the ghosts are singing stuck in your head for the rest of the day.

Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride

Mr. Toad's Wild Ride

Finally, the ride deemed too scary for youngsters was shut down at Disney World Florida, but it still has a home here in California. This is a classic and always brings in the crowds. It’s one of the reasons why some people favor Disneyland over Disney World. Is it as scary as some people say? For little ones, this family ride might be a tad too much. Thematically it is quite dark particularly towards the end however it’s a great deal of fun and certainly lives up to the name. This is also one of the only rides that opened with the park in 1955 and is still operational today.
